The Hilltown Calendar 2022
Artists love beautiful places, and the Hilltowns of Western Massachusetts do not disappoint. Many of its small farms remain operational, though fallow fields and simple barns remind one of an earlier day. The architectural forms of the 18th and 19th centuries remain dominant in these parts. The calendar seeks to represent the place as it is today, the old always shining through.
Kathryn Jensen created the first Hilltown Calendar in 2019, and appreciates how it has spurred her to get around the area. She lives at the high point of the Westfield River watershed.
Linda Mason, a lifelong Hilltown farm girl, has raised Corriedale sheep as well as breeding and training horses. She has been a builder of stone walls, a fiber artist, and a gardener. Linda has painted in watercolor since 1996.
Cindy Grosso has taught art and done graphic design work. She enjoys painting landscapes that portray human-made objects embedded in nature and experiments with welding found steel into sculptures. She lives in New Ashford.
